At IIT Delhi, I’m researching how microstructural features influence the corrosion and mechanical behavior of magnesium. I began with pure magnesium to study orientation, twinning, and grain size, then moved to magnesium alloys to examine the contributions of second-phase particles and solid-solution strengthening.
My projects have included investigating lanthanum’s effects on Mg-5Gd microstructure and mechanical properties, using optical and SEM analysis, hardness testing, and EBSD. During my MIDHANI internship, I studied the hot deformation behavior of Superni 750MW, analyzing flow curves, activation energy, and dynamic recrystallization.
I’ve also gained exposure to steel production and quality testing at RASHTRIYA ISPAT NIGAM LIMITED. My work includes a published review of challenges and opportunities in micropillar compression studies in magnesium alloys, as well as research on corrosion in pure magnesium.
