What I'm looking for
At Cedars-Sinai, I lead research on how genetic ancestry, sex, APOE4, and epigenetic regulation shape Alzheimer's disease risk, microglial function, and vascular aging.
I've led work showing that human iPSC-derived mononuclear phagocytes improve cognition and neural health across mouse models of aging and Alzheimer's disease, published in Advanced Science. My research combines iPSC-derived immune and brain-cell models, 3D brain chips, CRISPR editing, transcriptomics, plasma proteomics, and in vivo disease models to identify therapeutic mechanisms and biomarkers.
I'm an independent PI, mentor, educator, IRB and stem-cell oversight committee member, and Associate Editor for the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease. I enjoy building collaborative programs that translate stem-cell biology into therapies for neurodegenerative disease.

Investigates mechanisms underlying racial disparities in Alzheimer's disease risk, including genetic ancestry and epigenetic regulation. Develops iPSC-derived 3D brain chips to study sex differences and APOE4 effects on vascular aging.
Designed and led a research program demonstrating that human iPSC-derived mononuclear phagocytes improve cognition and neural health in mouse models of aging and Alzheimer's disease. Elucidated mechanisms using co-culture systems, transcriptomics, and plasma proteomics.
Demonstrated how APOE4 genotype and sex interact to drive transcriptional and functional microglial phenotypes across mouse and human iPSC-derived models. Generated and characterized patient-derived iPSC lines and applied CRISPR genome editing.
Investigated gene-by-environment interactions in Alzheimer's disease, focusing on obesity and metabolic dysfunction interacting with APOE genotype. Identified TLR4 signaling as a key pathway mediating adverse neural effects of high-fat diet.
