Akif Buğra Karslı

I’m a computer engineering student and backend-focused software engineer with hands-on experience building Go and Node.js microservices, Kafka-based service flows, REST APIs, and Dockerized services. I’m especially drawn to distributed systems, security scanning platforms, operating systems, and remote-first engineering teams.

As a Software Engineering Intern / Junior Software Engineer at Appsolute Technologies, I developed Go-based backend services for a security scanning platform—covering scan orchestration, service integration, and result/evidence flows. I worked with Kafka consumer/producer patterns in Dockerized environments, YAML/Viper configuration, Zap logging, graceful shutdown, and timeout/retry logic, while contributing unit, integration, and end-to-end test coverage using clean/hexagonal architecture principles. Previously, at Fatura Finansman, I built Node.js microservices for a supply-chain finance system that processes early-payment requests, handling request intake, validation, processing, and service-to-service integration.

I also expand my backend depth through projects like AkemirOS, an educational Rust-based x86_64 OS work with QEMU (including interrupts, keyboard input, and a RAM filesystem), and Security Scanning / Attack Surface Tools—Go, Docker, and Kafka-based services for scan pipelines and attack-surface API experimentation. This blend of production-oriented engineering and systems thinking guides how I design, test, and iterate on backend services.
