PhD student applying ML to exoplanet detection and time-series analysis.
What I'm looking for
I am a PhD candidate at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research focused on applying machine learning to exoplanet detection and stellar time-series analysis.
My research centers on radial velocity and transit methods, using transformer-based and other ML models to detect low-amplitude Keplerian signals and stellar periodicities in challenging, low-signal regimes.
I have presented talks and posters at international conferences (EPRV VI, Exoplanets V, Sun/Space Weather meetings) and submitted work to The Astronomical Journal on vision-transformer approaches for planetary candidate identification.
I hold a BSc and MSc in Physics from IIT Kanpur, have international Olympiad experience in astronomy and astrophysics, and bring strong programming and ML tool experience (Python, C/C++, Matlab, Fortran, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) to research and development roles.
