What I'm looking for

I’m looking for a role in additive manufacturing or manufacturing R&D where I can apply DEM/FEM modeling, build experimental validation, and contribute to precision manufacturing—while continuously improving quality and process reliability.

I’m a mechanical engineering M.Tech student at IIT Guwahati (Manufacturing Science and Engineering) with a strong focus on advanced manufacturing—especially Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) and Directed Energy Deposition (DED). My work centers on using simulations to improve powder bed density and uniformity, then validating those results with experiments and performance-oriented metrics.

Since Jan. 2025, I’ve been working as a Teaching Assistant for ME 101 Engineering Mechanics and ME 215 Machine Drawing. I assist faculty with tutorials and evaluation for a cohort of 50+ undergraduate students, and I lead hands-on support in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and standard manufacturing layout symbols.

In my industry experience, I completed a Summer Intern role at Banaras Locomotive Works, where I observed preventive and scheduled maintenance procedures for electric locomotives with an emphasis on safety and operational reliability. I also gained exposure to heavy manufacturing workflows for electric locomotive crank cases, including CNC machining, precision alignment, and final quality inspection.

My projects reflect my drive to move from design to real results: I’m investigating powder flow and deposition behavior in powder-based AM using Discrete Element Method (DEM) simulations, I helped design and construct a Magnetorheological Abrasive Flow Machining (MRAFM) process setup in SolidWorks, and I modeled and developed an indigenous DED additive manufacturing system. I also built a regenerative braking system prototype to demonstrate energy recovery benefits, and I apply continuous improvement principles through Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma training.
