- Partner with transportation, warehouse, and customs teams to expedite high-priority freight, balance temperature-controlled loads, and enforce seal-controls for high-value SKU lanes.
- Own OSHA 1910.178 powered-industrial-truck audits, daily pre-use inspections, and lock-out/tag-out compliance; report near-misses and lead root-cause investigations.
- Generate KPI scorecards (dwell time, tractor utilization, yard capacity, carbon emissions) and present weekly to Ops leadership; drive continuous-improvement projects (5S, Lean, Six Sigma).
- Manage third-party drayage carriers, negotiate spot rates, and validate accessorial charges within SAP Transportation Management.
- Control yard inventory accuracy through cycle counts, RFID scans, and exception reconciliation; achieve 99.9 % system-to-physical alignment.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years supervising yard, transportation, or warehouse operations in a high-volume DC (500+ trailers/day) or cross-dock environment.
- Proficiency with Yard Management Systems (YMS) such as Manhattan, JDA, or SAP YL; intermediate Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) for data-driven decisions.
- Working knowledge of DOT HOS regulations, OSHA 1910 forklift standards, and EPA idling/emission rules.
- Experience leading union or hourly workforces; demonstrated ability to reduce overtime 10 % YoY while maintaining service levels.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain OSHA 30-hour certification within 90 days.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply-Chain, Logistics, or Industrial Engineering.
