Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Wire Mill Rover to oversee and enhance the operations within our wire mill facility. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal production efficiency, product quality, and safety standards while leading a team of skilled operators. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of excellence throughout the mill.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations in the wire mill, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Lead and mentor a team of operators, providing training and support to enhance their skills and performance.
- Implement process improvements to optimize productivity and reduce waste, utilizing lean manufacturing principles.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and processes to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule and oversee preventive maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
- Analyze production data and metrics to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate with other departments, including Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Engineering, to ensure seamless operations and communication.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in wire manufacturing or a related field, with a proven track record of leadership.
- Strong understanding of wire mill processes, equipment, and safety standards.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement lean manufacturing principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Experience with Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools for production monitoring and reporting.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using manufacturing management systems and data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of materials science and metallurgy as it pertains to wire production.
- Experience with CAD software for process design and improvement.
