Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Veterinary Radiology Technician to join our dedicated veterinary team. In this role, you will oversee advanced imaging procedures and lead a team of radiology technicians to deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services for our patients. Your expertise will be critical in enhancing our radiology services and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the radiology department, ensuring optimal workflow and adherence to safety protocols
- Perform advanced imaging procedures including X-rays, ultrasounds, and MRIs, while ensuring high-quality results
- Train, mentor, and support junior radiology technicians in best practices and advanced techniques
- Collaborate with veterinarians to interpret imaging results and develop effective treatment plans
- Maintain and troubleshoot radiology equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with advancements in veterinary radiology
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license or equivalent certification
- 5+ years of experience in veterinary radiology, with a strong background in advanced imaging techniques
- Proven leadership experience in a veterinary or medical environment
- Strong understanding of radiology safety protocols and compliance regulations
Preferred:
- Certification in Veterinary Radiology Technology (CVRT) or comparable credentials
- Experience with digital radiography and PACS systems
- Knowledge of anesthesia protocols related to imaging procedures
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in advanced imaging technologies including X-ray, ultrasound, and MRI
- Experience with diagnostic imaging software and equipment maintenance
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
