Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Technologist Supervisor to lead our team of veterinary technologists in providing exceptional care to animals while ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. In this role, you will oversee clinical operations, mentor staff, and enhance the quality of veterinary care delivered to our patients.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of the veterinary technologist team, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of patient care.
- Provide leadership and guidance to veterinary technologists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Collaborate with veterinarians and other staff to develop and implement protocols for patient care, anesthesia, and pain management.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of team members, conducting regular performance reviews and providing constructive feedback.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintain accurate medical records in accordance with best practices.
- Assist with clinical procedures and emergency care as needed, demonstrating advanced technical skills and knowledge.
- Coordinate training and development programs for team members to enhance their technical expertise and career growth.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience as a Veterinary Technologist, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Current certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) in accordance with state regulations.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine, surgical procedures, and anesthesia.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Preferred:
- Experience in a specialty or emergency veterinary practice.
- Advanced certifications in veterinary technology or management.
- Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and enhance operational efficiency.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in veterinary medical software and electronic medical records (EMR).
- Experience with various veterinary diagnostic equipment and treatment modalities.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant applications.
