Role Overview
The VP of Vendor Management will be at the forefront of our strategic initiatives, leading the development and execution of our vendor management strategy to ensure optimal partnerships that drive operational excellence and innovation. As a key member of the leadership team, you will leverage your extensive experience to shape vendor relationships, optimize procurement processes, and enhance overall service delivery across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive vendor management strategy that aligns with organizational goals and objectives.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key vendors, ensuring alignment on performance metrics and service level agreements.
- Lead negotiations for contracts and renewals, driving favorable terms that support business growth and cost optimization.
- Monitor vendor performance through data analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs), initiating corrective actions as necessary to maintain service quality.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to identify vendor requirements and ensure seamless integration within operational workflows.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the vendor management function, adopting best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing vendor management team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or supply chain management, with a proven track record of success in leadership roles.
- Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation and vendor relationship management within a complex organizational environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive decision-making based on insights.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a focus on developing talent and fostering collaboration.
Preferred:
- Experience in a technology-driven environment or within industries undergoing significant digital transformation.
- Advanced degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Familiarity with supplier diversity initiatives and sustainable procurement practices.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in vendor management software and tools, as well as ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and compliance standards.
