Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven VP of Supplier Quality to lead our quality assurance initiatives across our supplier network at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive supplier quality strategy aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements
- Lead a team of quality professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
- Establish and maintain supplier quality metrics, reporting on performance and progress to executive leadership
- Conduct thorough supplier audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with quality standards
- Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to select and onboard new suppliers, ensuring their readiness to meet quality expectations
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective action processes for supplier-related quality issues, enhancing overall product quality
- Advocate for continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain to optimize quality and efficiency
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in supplier quality management or related field, with a proven track record in leadership roles
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and methodologies, including ISO 9001, Six Sigma, and Lean principles
- Experience in developing and managing supplier quality programs in a manufacturing environment
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision making
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field
- Experience in a global supply chain environment with a focus on continuous improvement
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and driving organizational change
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep understanding of quality assurance processes, supplier management, and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and quality software, such as Minitab or similar
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software
