Role Overview
We are looking for a strategic and innovative Unmanned Air Systems Operations Manager to lead our operations team in deploying and managing cutting-edge drone technologies. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of unmanned air systems (UAS) operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, optimizing operational efficiency, and driving the adoption of advanced aerial solutions across various applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement operational strategies for UAS deployment, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Lead a team of UAS operators, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performing culture.
- Establish and enforce safety protocols and best practices for UAS operations, maintaining rigorous compliance with FAA regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate UAS technology into existing workflows and identify opportunities for innovation and operational enhancement.
- Monitor and analyze operational metrics to assess performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry partners, and clients, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in UAS operations, including leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of UAS regulations, safety protocols, and operational best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead teams effectively.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with data analytics and performance metrics in UAS operations.
- UAS certification or remote pilot license (Part 107).
- Familiarity with various UAS platforms and technologies.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in UAS flight operations, including pre-flight checks, mission planning, and data collection.
- Experience with UAS software for flight operations, data analysis, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of remote sensing technologies and their applications.
