Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated Junior Air Traffic Coordinator to join our operations team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. In this role, you will assist senior coordinators in managing air traffic operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of aircraft within our jurisdiction. You'll be integral in maintaining communication between pilots and ground control, while also gaining valuable experience in air traffic management processes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring and coordinating aircraft movements on the ground and in the airspace
- Support senior coordinators in maintaining safe separation between aircraft and managing air traffic flow
- Communicate relevant information to pilots and ground personnel to ensure safety and efficiency
- Participate in debriefing sessions to review operations and identify areas for improvement
- Utilize air traffic control software tools to input data and assist in decision-making
- Stay informed about weather conditions and other factors affecting air traffic
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate’s degree in aviation management, air traffic control, or a related field
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Basic understanding of air traffic control principles and procedures
Preferred:
- Internship or relevant experience in aviation operations
- Familiarity with air traffic control systems and tools
- Knowledge of aviation regulations and safety protocols
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with air traffic control simulation software is a plus
- Basic knowledge of radio communication protocols
