Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Tree-Shear Operator to join our team, responsible for operating specialized equipment to manage vegetation effectively and efficiently. This role is critical in ensuring safe and productive operations in various environments, contributing to our mission of sustainable land management.
Responsibilities
- Operate tree-shear equipment to cut and clear trees and brush, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and company standards.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to plan and execute vegetation management projects according to environmental regulations.
- Monitor and assess the condition of tools and machinery, reporting any repairs or replacements needed.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including quantities of material removed and equipment usage.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Proven experience operating tree-shear equipment or similar machinery.
- Strong understanding of safety practices and regulations related to vegetation management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various environmental conditions.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
Preferred:
- Certification in equipment operation or relevant safety training.
- Experience in forestry, landscaping, or environmental management.
- Knowledge of local flora and fauna to minimize ecological impact during operations.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in operating tree-shear and related heavy machinery.
- Familiarity with GPS and mapping software for job site navigation.
- Basic mechanical skills for equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
