Role Overview
We are looking for a Tool and Die Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in the design, development, and optimization of precision tooling and die systems. In this leadership role, you will drive operational excellence, manage project timelines, and ensure quality standards are met while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers and technicians to design and manufacture high-quality tools and dies for complex production processes
- Oversee the development and implementation of engineering processes and best practices to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure on-time delivery of tooling projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality assurance, and product development to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide mentorship and guidance to team members
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations in all engineering activities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in tool and die design and manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
- Proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams and managing complex projects
- Strong understanding of CAD/CAM software and manufacturing processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex engineering issues
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
- Familiarity with automation technologies and advanced manufacturing techniques
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
- Experience with CNC machining and injection molding processes
- Knowledge of material science, metallurgy, and heat treatment processes
