Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Surgical First Assistant to join our innovative healthcare team. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of patient care during surgical procedures. Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during various surgical procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring compliance with all safety and health regulations
- Collaborate with the surgical team to assess patient needs and develop tailored surgical plans
- Monitor patient vitals and assist in managing anesthesia as required, acting as a key resource in emergency situations
- Participate in surgical training and mentorship programs for junior staff and surgical residents
- Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices for surgical procedures and patient care
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) or equivalent certification
- Minimum 5 years of experience in surgical assistance, with a strong background in a variety of surgical specialties
- In-depth knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and protocols
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Preferred:
- Advanced certifications in specialized surgical fields (e.g., robotics, vascular)
- Experience in surgical education or training roles
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in the use of surgical instruments and technology, including robotic surgical systems
- Proficient in maintaining and managing surgical supplies and equipment
- Ability to utilize EMR systems for patient documentation and surgical reporting
