Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist Supervisor to lead our remote surgical support team. This role is critical in ensuring that surgical procedures are conducted efficiently and safely, while maintaining the highest standards of patient care. You will supervise surgical technologists, coordinate surgical services, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance operational effectiveness in a fully remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the surgical technologist team, ensuring compliance with established protocols and standards of care
- Coordinate surgical schedules and assist in the allocation of resources to optimize surgical workflow
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of surgical technologists, providing mentorship and training to enhance their skills
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare providers to develop best practices for surgical procedures
- Implement quality assurance measures to ensure the safety and efficacy of surgical services
- Act as a liaison between surgical teams and administrative staff to address operational challenges
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience as a surgical technologist with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Certification as a surgical technologist (CST) from an accredited organization
- In-depth knowledge of surgical instruments, techniques, and sterile processing protocols
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a remote team
Preferred:
- Experience in a remote work environment within healthcare
- Advanced certification in surgical technology or related fields
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and surgical scheduling software
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in surgical instrumentation and equipment usage
- Knowledge of current surgical procedures and techniques across various specialties
- Experience with telehealth technologies and virtual collaboration tools
