Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and visionary Director of Student Development to lead our initiatives aimed at enhancing student engagement, success, and overall experience. In this pivotal role, you will design and implement programs that foster growth, retention, and achievement, while collaborating with various stakeholders to cultivate a thriving educational environment.
Responsibilities
Program Development and Leadership:
- Design, implement, and assess comprehensive student development programs that address diverse student needs and enhance engagement.
- Lead the development of strategic initiatives to support student retention and success, utilizing data-driven insights to inform decisions.
- Collaborate with academic departments to integrate student development efforts with curricular activities, promoting holistic student growth.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with students, faculty, staff, and external partners to foster a supportive community.
- Serve as a key representative for student development initiatives at institutional meetings and events.
- Advocate for student needs and concerns, ensuring their voices are heard in institutional decision-making.
Assessment and Reporting:
- Develop metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of student development programs and initiatives, reporting findings to key stakeholders.
- Utilize assessment results to continuously improve programs and services, ensuring they align with institutional goals.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education, Higher Education Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in student affairs or student development.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing successful student engagement initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data interpretation and program assessment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a fully remote or hybrid work environment.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in student development and higher education.
- Experience in grant writing and securing funding for student programs.
