Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and highly skilled Director of Special Education Curriculum to lead the development and implementation of innovative curriculum strategies that enhance learning outcomes for students with diverse needs. You will play a critical role in shaping educational practices, collaborating with educators, administrators, and stakeholders to ensure a high-quality learning experience that aligns with our mission of inclusivity and excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and evaluation of a comprehensive special education curriculum that meets state and federal guidelines.
- Collaborate with educational leaders to create and refine instructional materials and resources that support differentiated learning.
- Conduct regular program assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement data-driven strategies to enhance student achievement.
- Provide training and support to educators on best practices in special education and inclusive teaching methodologies.
- Foster partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders to expand resources and services for students with special needs.
- Drive initiatives that promote equity, access, and inclusion within the educational environment.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in special education, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, policies, and best practices.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective curriculum strategies that improve student outcomes.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment.
Preferred:
- Doctorate in Education or a related field.
- Experience with multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and response to intervention (RTI).
- Demonstrated success in leading curriculum initiatives that resulted in positive educational outcomes.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in data analysis tools for assessing educational outcomes and program effectiveness.
- Familiarity with educational technology platforms that support special education delivery.
- Experience with curriculum design software and learning management systems.
