Role Overview
We are seeking an esteemed academic professional to fill the position of Endowed Chair in Silviculture. Responsibilities
- Develop and lead cutting-edge research projects in silviculture, focusing on sustainable forestry practices and ecosystem restoration
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to secure funding and foster partnerships that enhance the visibility and impact of silvicultural research
- Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in silviculture and related disciplines, mentoring students and fostering a dynamic learning environment
- Publish research findings in reputable journals and present at national and international conferences
- Engage with stakeholders, including landowners, policymakers, and conservation organizations, to promote evidence-based practices in forestry
- Contribute to the strategic vision and priorities of the department and participate in service activities that support the university community
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Ph.D. in Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field with a focus on silviculture
- Demonstrated record of research excellence and significant publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Strong experience in grant writing and securing funding for research projects
- Proven ability to teach and engage students at the graduate and undergraduate levels
