Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Sheet Metal Supervisor to lead our dedicated team in the fabrication and installation of sheet metal products. This role is critical in ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. You will oversee the daily operations, mentor team members, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and continuous improvement within our manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the sheet metal fabrication team to ensure timely and accurate production
- Develop and implement production schedules, workflow plans, and resource allocation strategies
- Conduct regular inspections of work in progress to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards
- Mentor and train team members on best practices in sheet metal fabrication and safety protocols
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to optimize product designs for manufacturability
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement corrective actions to enhance efficiency
- Maintain accurate records of production metrics and report on team performance
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in sheet metal fabrication with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal processes, materials, and fabrication techniques
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Preferred:
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with CAD software and sheet metal design tools
- Relevant certifications in sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing management
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in operating sheet metal fabrication equipment such as CNC machines, lasers, and brakes
- Understanding of quality control processes and inspection techniques
- Experience with ERP systems for production planning and inventory management
