Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Sheet Metal Supervisor to lead our production team in delivering exceptional quality and efficiency in sheet metal fabrication. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and implementing process improvements to enhance productivity and product quality.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of sheet metal fabrication personnel to optimize workflow and meet production goals
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices, conducting regular safety audits and training sessions
- Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring timely delivery of projects while maintaining high-quality standards
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to provide input on manufacturability and production feasibility
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency
- Evaluate and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the fabrication process, reducing waste and increasing efficiency
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of growth and development
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong understanding of sheet metal processes, including cutting, bending, and welding techniques
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor team members
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure
Preferred:
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies
- Familiarity with CAD software and fabrication machinery
- Certifications related to metal fabrication or manufacturing management
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and equipment
- Experience with quality control methodologies and standards
- Proficiency in using CAD software for layout and design
