Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Screw Machine Tool Supervisor to oversee our production processes, ensuring both efficiency and quality in our machining operations. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of machinists, manage the setup and operation of screw machines, and implement best practices to enhance productivity while maintaining safety and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of screw machine production, ensuring adherence to established protocols and quality standards
- Lead, mentor, and train a team of machinists in the operation of screw machines and troubleshooting techniques
- Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring optimal resource allocation and workflow efficiency
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of machining processes to identify and resolve inefficiencies or quality issues
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize machine setups, tooling, and workholding solutions to enhance production capabilities
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and health standards, fostering a culture of safety within the team
- Maintain accurate records of production metrics, machine maintenance, and inventory management
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in a machining environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of screw machine operations, tooling, and setups
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex machining issues in real-time
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience with CNC screw machines and advanced machining technologies
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Proven track record of optimizing production processes and improving efficiency
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep understanding of screw machine operation and maintenance
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and tools
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for machining applications
