Role Overview
We are seeking a Machinist Supervisor to lead our skilled team of machinists in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role is essential in overseeing the production process, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and implementing best practices in machining operations to drive efficiency and safety.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of machinists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and skill development
- Plan and coordinate daily machining activities, ensuring optimal workflow and resource allocation
- Monitor production quality and implement corrective actions as necessary to meet specifications and standards
- Develop and maintain machining processes, including setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC and manual machines
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to streamline operations and reduce downtime
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment
- Maintain accurate records of production metrics, labor hours, and machine maintenance schedules
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in machining, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Strong understanding of machining operations, including CNC programming and setup
- Experience with quality control processes and tools, including ISO standards
Preferred:
- Associate's degree in Manufacturing Technology or related field
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and practices
- Experience with CAD/CAM software
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in operating CNC lathes, mills, and other machining equipment
- Proficient in using precision measurement tools and gauges
- Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, and machining processes
