Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our innovative team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Conduct ultrasound scans on patients as directed by physicians, ensuring optimal imaging quality and patient comfort
- Accurately document patient information and ultrasound findings in compliance with established protocols
- Maintain and operate ultrasound equipment, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting as necessary
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to discuss imaging results and assist in developing patient care plans
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
- Participate in continuing education and training to enhance skills and stay updated with advancements in sonography
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- Basic understanding of ultrasound physics and instrumentation
- Current certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or eligibility to obtain certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
Preferred:
- Experience in a clinical setting or internship involving ultrasound imaging
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology relevant to ultrasound imaging
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in operating ultrasound equipment and performing various sonographic procedures
- Ability to analyze and interpret ultrasound images to assist in clinical decision-making
- Familiarity with Doppler ultrasound techniques and 3D imaging is a plus
