Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Nuclear Engineering Manager to lead our innovative projects in the nuclear energy sector. In this pivotal role, you will oversee engineering teams focused on the design, analysis, and implementation of nuclear systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols. You will drive strategic initiatives, manage complex projects, and collaborate across disciplines to enhance our operational capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of nuclear engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Develop and execute project plans, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards
- Oversee the design and analysis of nuclear systems, ensuring alignment with industry regulations and safety standards
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to integrate engineering solutions with project requirements and objectives
- Provide technical guidance and strategic direction on nuclear engineering practices and methodologies
- Engage with regulatory bodies and stakeholders to ensure compliance and facilitate project approvals
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in nuclear engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role
- In-depth knowledge of nuclear reactor systems, thermal-hydraulics, and safety analysis
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements in the nuclear industry
- Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects from conception to completion
Preferred:
- Master’s degree or higher in Nuclear Engineering or related field
- Experience with advanced nuclear technologies, including small modular reactors (SMRs)
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Lean)
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in nuclear design software, simulation tools, and analysis platforms
- Proficient in risk management frameworks and safety assessment methodologies
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and technical documentation
