Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Shift Supervisor for our Reactor Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational activities of reactor systems, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to optimize reactor performance and efficiency. You will lead a team of operators, facilitating their training and development while maintaining operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily reactor operations, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards
- Monitor reactor performance metrics and implement corrective actions as necessary to maintain optimal operational conditions
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of reactor systems and equipment to ensure functionality and safety
- Lead shift handover meetings, providing clear communication on operational status and upcoming tasks
- Train and mentor junior operators on reactor processes, safety protocols, and emergency procedures
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to facilitate repairs and upgrades to reactor systems
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in reactor operations or a related field, with a proven track record of supervisory experience
- In-depth knowledge of reactor systems, safety regulations, and operational protocols
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience with advanced reactor technologies and operational optimization strategies
- Certification in reactor operations or related safety certifications
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in monitoring and control systems used in reactor operations
- Experience with data analysis tools for performance monitoring and reporting
