Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Dental Hygienist to join our innovative dental practice. In this fully remote position, you will play a crucial role in shaping the hygiene department, driving best practices, and enhancing patient care through effective communication and advanced dental hygiene techniques.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the dental hygiene team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Design and implement hygiene protocols that align with the latest evidence-based practices and regulatory standards.
- Conduct comprehensive dental assessments, including patient history, oral exams, and risk assessments, to develop individualized care plans.
- Deliver high-quality preventive care, including scaling, root planing, and patient education on oral hygiene practices.
- Collaborate closely with dentists and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, holistic patient care.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing constructive feedback and support to enhance skills and confidence.
- Oversee the maintenance of hygiene equipment and ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Current dental hygiene license in the applicable state.
- 5+ years of experience as a dental hygienist, with a track record of leadership or supervisory roles.
- Strong knowledge of dental hygiene practices, equipment, and patient care standards.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on patient education and relationship building.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene or a related field.
- Experience in a remote or telehealth environment.
- Familiarity with dental practice management software and digital charting systems.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in the use of dental radiography and diagnostics tools.
- Experience with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft).
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and regulatory compliance.
