Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Dental Hygienist to join our innovative dental practice. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the hygiene department while ensuring the highest standards of patient care and clinical excellence. You will lead a team of dental hygienists, drive best practices, and collaborate closely with dental providers to enhance patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of dental hygienists, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Conduct comprehensive dental hygiene assessments, including periodontal evaluations and oral cancer screenings.
- Develop and implement protocols and procedures to optimize patient care and hygiene practices.
- Collaborate with dentists to create individualized patient treatment plans and ensure seamless care delivery.
- Provide high-quality patient education on oral health, preventive care, and hygiene techniques.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with dental regulations, infection control protocols, and health and safety standards.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and provide feedback for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) with a valid state license.
- 5+ years of clinical experience in dental hygiene, with a demonstrated history of leadership.
- Strong knowledge of dental hygiene practices, procedures, and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with patients and team members.
- Proficiency in dental software and electronic health records (EHR).
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene or related field.
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a dental practice.
- Certifications in advanced hygiene techniques, such as local anesthesia or periodontal therapy.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using dental hygiene instruments and technology, including digital radiography and intraoral cameras.
- Experience with dental practice management software and EHR systems.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and safety standards in dental settings.
