Role Overview
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Technician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team in providing exceptional care to individuals with mental health challenges. This role is integral in supporting the therapeutic process and ensuring the well-being of our patients in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed psychiatric professionals in the delivery of patient care, including monitoring patient behaviors and emotional states
- Help implement treatment plans by facilitating therapeutic activities and engaging patients in meaningful dialogue
- Conduct regular observations to assess patient needs and report findings to the healthcare team
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment by maintaining cleanliness and organization of patient areas
- Collaborate with nursing and therapeutic staff to develop and adjust individualized care plans
- Participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress and share relevant insights
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a psychiatric technician training program preferred
- Experience working in a healthcare setting, particularly in mental health
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Preferred:
- Certification as a Psychiatric Technician or Nursing Assistant
- Experience with crisis intervention techniques and de-escalation strategies
- Familiarity with electronic healthcare records (EHR) systems
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in the use of EHR systems for documentation and patient tracking
- Basic understanding of psychiatric diagnoses and treatment modalities
- Ability to utilize communication technologies to enhance patient care
