Role Overview
We are seeking an innovative and strategic Head of Photography and Prints Curation to lead our visual arts department. In this pivotal role, you will drive the vision and execution of our photography and print curation strategy, enhancing our offerings and creating a compelling narrative through curated visual content that resonates with our audience and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive curation strategy that aligns with the company's mission and brand identity
- Oversee the selection, acquisition, and presentation of photographic and print works, ensuring quality and diversity in our collections
- Collaborate with artists, photographers, and stakeholders to create engaging exhibitions and installations that tell impactful stories
- Establish and maintain relationships with key industry players, including galleries, museums, and artistic institutions
- Evaluate and implement cutting-edge curation technologies and methodologies to enhance viewer engagement and accessibility
- Mentor and guide a team of curators and assistants, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and professional development
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in art curation, with a strong emphasis on photography and prints
- Proven track record of successful exhibition planning and execution within a gallery or museum setting
- Deep understanding of contemporary photography and visual arts trends, with a strong network in the artistic community
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Art History, Fine Arts, or a related field
- Experience with digital curation platforms and online exhibition tools
- Knowledge of art conservation practices and preservation techniques
- Fluency in a second language is a plus
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Familiarity with digital asset management systems and online exhibition platforms
- Proficient in data analysis tools to assess audience engagement and curation effectiveness
- Ability to utilize social media and digital marketing strategies to promote curated collections
