Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Phlebotomy Services to lead our national phlebotomy operations. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of best practices in phlebotomy services across multiple locations, ensuring exceptional patient care and operational excellence. You will drive the vision, strategy, and execution of our phlebotomy programs while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the national phlebotomy services, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and organizational policies
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing service quality, operational efficiency, and patient satisfaction
- Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to establish performance metrics and continuously monitor service delivery
- Provide leadership and mentorship to phlebotomy staff, fostering a culture of professional development and high performance
- Oversee the training and onboarding of new phlebotomy staff to ensure adherence to best practices and quality standards
- Analyze service delivery data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement actionable plans
- Manage budgetary considerations and resource allocation for phlebotomy services
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in phlebotomy services or related healthcare field, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of phlebotomy techniques, laboratory operations, and regulatory compliance
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change initiatives
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
Preferred:
- Experience in a multi-site healthcare environment
- Advanced degree in healthcare administration, business management, or related field
- Certification from a recognized phlebotomy or laboratory organization
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and laboratory information systems (LIS)
- Experience with data analysis tools and methodologies to assess performance metrics
- Knowledge of quality assurance processes and performance improvement frameworks
