Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Phlebotomy Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality, while also contributing to the overall patient care experience. Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures with precision and care, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of blood collection, patient interactions, and sample handling.
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control practices to minimize risks for both patients and staff.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure timely and accurate specimen collection and processing.
- Provide exceptional patient service, addressing concerns and answering questions regarding the phlebotomy process.
- Participate in training and educational programs to stay current with phlebotomy best practices and techniques.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program or certification.
- 1+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory or healthcare setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
Preferred:
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in blood collection techniques and equipment.
- Familiarity with health information systems and laboratory software.
- Understanding of laboratory safety standards and regulations.
