Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomy Manager to lead our dynamic team in delivering exceptional blood collection services. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the phlebotomy department, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving the implementation of best practices for patient care and staff training.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise phlebotomy staff, providing leadership and mentorship to ensure high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.
- Develop, implement, and optimize phlebotomy protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular training sessions for staff to enhance skills in blood collection techniques, patient interaction, and safety standards.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of phlebotomy services through key performance indicators (KPIs) and patient feedback, making necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare providers to facilitate effective communication and enhance the overall patient experience.
- Manage inventory and supply chain for phlebotomy materials, ensuring availability and compliance with safety standards.
- Participate in budget planning and management, identifying opportunities for cost savings and resource optimization.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in phlebotomy, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician or equivalent recognized credential.
- In-depth knowledge of blood collection techniques, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., healthcare management, biology).
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and data management.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement training programs for staff.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
