Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Pathologist Assistant to join our dynamic pathology team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of Pathologist Assistants, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional development
- Supervise the preparation of surgical specimens, including gross examination, dissection, and documentation
- Ensure adherence to laboratory protocols and regulatory compliance, including CAP and CLIA standards
- Assist pathologists in the preparation of reports, including detailed descriptions of findings
- Coordinate quality assurance programs and implement corrective actions as necessary
- Participate in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance laboratory efficiency
- Engage in continuing education and training initiatives to keep the team updated on advancements in pathology
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Pathologist Assistant or a related field
- 3+ years of experience as a Pathologist Assistant in an accredited laboratory setting
- Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as a Pathologist Assistant
- Strong knowledge of pathology processes and procedures
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
Preferred:
- Experience with digital pathology and laboratory information systems
- Proficiency in advanced histopathological techniques and immunohistochemistry
- Experience in conducting training sessions and workshops
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in laboratory equipment and techniques, including microtomy, embedding, and staining
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and electronic health records (EHR)
- Ability to analyze complex pathology data and provide insights to the medical team
