Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pathology Laboratory Manager to lead our fully remote pathology laboratory operations. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing laboratory functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in diagnostic services.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily laboratory operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of pathology specimens
- Lead and mentor laboratory staff, promoting professional development and adherence to best practices
- Implement and maintain quality assurance programs to uphold regulatory compliance and enhance laboratory performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workflow processes, integrating advanced technologies as needed
- Oversee budget management and resource allocation to maximize laboratory efficiency
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure adherence to safety protocols
- Stay current with advancements in pathology technology and methodologies to maintain a competitive edge
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Pathology, Laboratory Management, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in laboratory management, with a focus on pathology
- Strong knowledge of laboratory regulations, quality control measures, and safety standards
- Proven track record of leading teams and managing laboratory operations effectively
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across various departments
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification as a Pathologists' Assistant (PA) or equivalent certification
- Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic health records (EHR)
- Familiarity with molecular pathology and advanced diagnostic techniques
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- In-depth knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and diagnostic equipment
- Experience with data analysis software and laboratory management systems
- Understanding of laboratory accreditation processes and quality management systems
