Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced PACS Manager to lead our Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) operations, ensuring seamless integration and functionality across our imaging platforms. In this critical role, you will oversee the management and optimization of PACS infrastructure, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance with industry regulations while enhancing imaging workflows and patient care.
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic planning, implementation, and management of PACS applications to optimize imaging workflows and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Collaborate with radiology, IT, and clinical teams to enhance the integration of PACS with other systems, including EMR and RIS.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to ensure reliability and efficiency of PACS solutions.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee the procurement and integration of new technologies into the existing PACS framework.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices, including HIPAA, to safeguard patient data and maintain system integrity.
- Provide training and support to staff on PACS functionalities, ensuring all users are proficient in utilizing the systems effectively.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in PACS administration or management within a healthcare environment.
- Deep understanding of imaging technologies, workflow processes, and integration methodologies.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead cross-functional teams to successful outcomes.
Preferred:
- Master's degree or advanced certification in Health Informatics or related field.
- Experience with DICOM standards and imaging protocols.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools and methodologies to assess PACS performance.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in PACS applications, including vendor-specific systems (e.g., GE, Siemens, Philips).
- Strong knowledge of imaging modalities and related technologies.
- Experience with database management and data analytics tools.
