Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior PACS Administrator to join our dynamic healthcare technology team. In this role, you will support the management and maintenance of our Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), ensuring seamless access to medical images and associated data for healthcare professionals. You will play a vital role in facilitating the efficient operation of our imaging workflows while gaining exposure to advanced imaging technologies.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily administration and maintenance of the PACS environment, ensuring optimal performance and availability of systems
- Support the configuration of PACS software, including user account management, permissions, and security settings
- Coordinate with IT and clinical staff to troubleshoot and resolve PACS-related issues efficiently
- Conduct regular system checks, monitoring performance metrics, and reporting on system health
- Participate in the integration of PACS with other healthcare information systems and imaging modalities
- Document processes and workflows related to PACS operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Health Information Management, or a related field
- Basic understanding of PACS systems and medical imaging workflows
- Familiarity with healthcare IT systems and standards (HL7, DICOM)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred:
- Experience in a healthcare IT environment or direct experience with PACS administration
- Knowledge of database management systems and basic SQL querying
- Certification in PACS or healthcare IT systems is a plus
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Understanding of PACS architecture and data flow
- Familiarity with medical imaging modalities (CT, MRI, X-ray) and their integration with PACS
- Basic skills in troubleshooting network and software issues related to PACS
