Role Overview
We are seeking a Principal Oracle DBA to join our high-performing database management team. In this strategic role, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our Oracle database systems, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance while aligning with business objectives and industry best practices.
Responsibilities
- Architect and manage complex Oracle database environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
- Design, implement, and maintain backup and recovery strategies to protect data integrity
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization of database queries and processes
- Collaborate with application development teams to provide database design support and SQL query optimization
- Lead database migration projects and upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption
- Mentor junior DBAs and provide guidance on best practices and troubleshooting techniques
- Stay abreast of industry trends and technologies to inform database strategy and improvements
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA with a proven track record in large-scale database environments
- Expertise in Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, and backup/recovery strategies
- Strong knowledge of PL/SQL, SQL performance optimization, and Oracle database security best practices
- Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager and other monitoring tools
Preferred:
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and database as a service (DBaaS)
- Familiarity with other database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases
- Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM)
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Advanced proficiency in Oracle database management and administration
- Understanding of database replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions
- Experience with automation tools for database provisioning and maintenance
