Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Optomechanical Technician to join our team, where you will play a critical role in the design, assembly, and testing of optomechanical systems. You will leverage your advanced technical expertise to lead projects that drive innovation in optical instrumentation, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Lead the assembly and integration of complex optomechanical systems, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications.
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of optical components and systems, diagnosing and resolving technical issues that arise during development and production.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to provide input on design modifications and improvements based on assembly and testing feedback.
- Mentor and train junior technicians, fostering a culture of excellence in optomechanical practices and quality assurance.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of assembly processes, testing protocols, and quality control measures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations throughout the production process.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in optomechanical assembly and testing, with a proven track record in leading projects in a technical environment.
- Strong understanding of optical systems, mechanical design principles, and optical alignment techniques.
- Experience using optical test equipment and metrology tools, such as interferometers and optical power meters.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with CAD software for design and modeling of optical components.
- Experience working in a remote team environment, with a focus on collaboration and communication tools.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in optical systems design and optomechanical assembly techniques.
- Proficiency with optical testing equipment and software for data analysis.
- Familiarity with materials used in optical systems, including coatings, lenses, and prisms.
