Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Mud Logging Supervisor to lead our logging operations on drilling sites. This role involves overseeing the collection and analysis of drilling data, ensuring optimal performance and safety protocols are adhered to while supporting exploration and production activities. You will play a pivotal role in the decision-making process by providing real-time data interpretation, working closely with drilling teams, and leveraging your expertise in wellsite operations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise mud logging operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational protocols.
- Coordinate with drilling engineers and geologists to interpret geological data and optimize drilling performance.
- Manage the collection, analysis, and documentation of drilling data, including mud properties and formation characteristics.
- Lead and mentor a team of mud loggers, providing training and guidance to ensure high-quality data collection and reporting.
- Utilize advanced logging equipment and software to monitor drilling parameters and generate real-time reports for stakeholders.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues related to drilling operations, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in mud logging or related field, with a track record of successful supervision in drilling operations.
- Strong understanding of drilling processes, mud composition, and geological formations.
- Proven ability to interpret complex data sets and make informed decisions under pressure.
Preferred:
- Experience with various logging technologies and software, such as GeoGraphix or Petrel.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards related to drilling operations.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using mud logging equipment, data acquisition systems, and geological analysis software.
- Experience with real-time data monitoring and interpretation methodologies.
