Role Overview
We are seeking a Motor Rewinding Supervisor to oversee the rewinding and repair of electric motors, ensuring operations are executed efficiently, safely, and within quality standards. In this leadership role, you will manage a team of skilled technicians, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of the motor rewinding department, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards
- Lead, mentor, and train a team of technicians in motor rewinding techniques and best practices
- Develop and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce turnaround time
- Conduct root cause analysis of motor failures and recommend corrective actions
- Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
- Maintain inventory of materials and tools, ensuring availability for ongoing projects
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of work completed, including reports on productivity and performance metrics
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in electric motor rewinding or a similar field, with a proven track record of supervisory experience
- Strong understanding of electric motor construction, operation, and repair techniques
- Experience with diagnostic tools and equipment used in motor testing and evaluation
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Preferred:
- Technical degree or certification in electrical engineering or a related field
- Familiarity with advanced motor technologies, including variable frequency drives (VFDs) and servo motors
- Experience implementing lean manufacturing principles
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using winding machines, insulation testing equipment, and other motor repair tools
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations
- Experience with software tools for inventory and work order management
