Role Overview
We are seeking a Medical Direct Support Supervisor to lead our dedicated team of healthcare professionals in providing high-quality support services to individuals with diverse needs. This position is essential for ensuring that our clients receive compassionate, person-centered care while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of Direct Support Professionals, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and effectiveness in delivering care.
- Develop and implement individualized support plans in collaboration with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Conduct regular assessments of client needs and outcomes, adjusting care plans as necessary to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
- Facilitate training sessions for staff on best practices in direct support and person-centered care.
- Act as a liaison between clients, families, and healthcare providers to promote effective communication and collaboration.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and staff performance, providing regular reports to management.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Nursing, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role within a healthcare or direct support setting.
- Strong understanding of person-centered care principles and relevant regulations.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and documentation software.
Preferred:
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Knowledge of Medicaid and other funding sources.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Ability to utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and reporting.
- Familiarity with telehealth technologies and remote monitoring tools.
- Understanding of data privacy regulations related to patient information.
