Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to serve as the Head of the Maxillofacial Pathology Department. In this pivotal role, you will drive advancements in diagnostic pathology, overseeing a team dedicated to providing exceptional pathological analysis and patient care. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Maxillofacial Pathology Department, ensuring high standards of diagnostic accuracy and quality control
- Develop and implement innovative diagnostic protocols and methodologies to improve patient outcomes
- Oversee the training and professional development of department staff, mentoring pathologists and technicians in advanced techniques
- Collaborate with clinical teams to provide expert consultations and contribute to multidisciplinary case discussions
- Drive research initiatives within the department, securing funding and publishing findings in reputable journals
- Establish and maintain relationships with academic institutions and industry partners to enhance collaborative opportunities
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in laboratory operations
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- MD or equivalent degree with board certification in Pathology, with a subspecialty in Maxillofacial Pathology
- 8+ years of clinical experience in diagnostic pathology, with a focus on maxillofacial cases
- Proven leadership experience in a department or laboratory setting
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
Preferred:
- Experience with digital pathology and telepathology technologies
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence applications in diagnostic pathology
- Prior involvement in teaching or academic roles
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in histopathology and cytopathology techniques
- Proficient in the use of laboratory information systems and pathology-specific software
