Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Resident in Maxillofacial Pathology to join our esteemed program, where you will gain in-depth training and experience in diagnosing, treating, and researching disorders of the head, neck, and oral cavity. This residency offers a unique opportunity to work alongside leading experts in the field and participate in a comprehensive curriculum that combines clinical practice with advanced research.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the diagnostic evaluation of maxillofacial specimens and contribute to multidisciplinary case discussions.
- Engage in surgical pathology, cytopathology, and molecular diagnostics under the mentorship of experienced pathologists.
- Conduct research projects focused on innovative diagnostic techniques and treatment modalities in maxillofacial pathology.
- Present findings in departmental conferences and contribute to scholarly publications.
- Participate in patient care, including obtaining patient histories and performing clinical examinations as required.
- Support educational activities by teaching and mentoring medical students and junior residents.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a relevant internship or equivalent clinical experience.
- Strong commitment to pursuing a career in maxillofacial pathology.
Preferred:
- Prior experience in surgical pathology or oral and maxillofacial surgery.
- Research experience in pathology or related fields, with a focus on head and neck disorders.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Familiarity with diagnostic imaging techniques relevant to maxillofacial pathology.
- Understanding of laboratory technologies including immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and pathology informatics systems.
