Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Physical Therapist Assistant to join our multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. In this role, you will play a critical part in delivering high-quality patient care, collaborating closely with licensed physical therapists to develop and implement effective treatment plans, and ensuring optimal recovery outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in executing individualized treatment plans, ensuring adherence to best practices and protocols
- Monitor and document patient progress, providing detailed updates on treatment effectiveness and communicating with the therapy team
- Educate patients and their families on exercises, self-care techniques, and overall wellness, fostering an environment of support and encouragement
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of therapy equipment and treatment areas, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Support the training and mentoring of junior physical therapist assistants, contributing to their professional development
- Engage in team meetings and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to enhance patient care strategies
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate's degree in Physical Therapist Assisting or a related field
- Current certification and licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- 5+ years of experience in a clinical setting, with demonstrated expertise in physical therapy practices
- Strong understanding of therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation techniques
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Experience in a specialized area of therapy, such as geriatrics, pediatrics, or sports rehabilitation
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and documentation standards
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using therapeutic equipment and modalities, including exercise machines, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation
- Ability to utilize EMR systems for patient documentation and progress tracking
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices and current trends in physical therapy
