Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Livestock Operations Manager to oversee and streamline our livestock management processes. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the efficient operation of all livestock-related activities, from breeding and feeding to health management and compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of livestock facilities, ensuring optimal animal welfare and adherence to health and safety regulations
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for livestock management, including breeding, feeding, and health monitoring
- Coordinate with veterinary services to monitor herd health and implement vaccination and treatment protocols
- Oversee inventory management of feed, supplies, and equipment to ensure operational readiness
- Train and supervise staff in best practices for livestock care and operational procedures
- Utilize data analytics to track livestock performance metrics and identify areas for improvement
- Prepare reports on livestock operations, budgetary needs, and compliance audits
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agricultural Management, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in livestock operations or management
- Strong knowledge of animal husbandry practices and livestock health management
- Proven leadership skills with experience in managing teams
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a relevant field
- Experience with sustainable farming practices and animal welfare standards
- Familiarity with livestock management software and data analysis tools
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
