Role Overview

Responsibilities

- Engage with visitors through educational programs, presentations, and interactive sessions, enhancing public understanding of lion behavior and conservation efforts.
- Maintain accurate records of training progress, health assessments, and behavioral observations.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in animal training, specifically with big cats or similar wildlife.
- Demonstrated expertise in animal behavior, training methodologies, and welfare standards.
- Strong communication skills for effectively interacting with team members, veterinary staff, and the public.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and manage the challenges associated with training large, powerful animals.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in Animal Behavior, Zoology, or a related field.
- Experience in conservation education and public outreach.
- Knowledge of enrichment techniques and behavioral modification strategies.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in using animal training equipment and safety measures.
- Experience with behavioral assessment tools and software for recording animal behavior.
- Familiarity with wildlife conservation practices and regulations.
