Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Legal Office Manager to oversee the daily operations of our legal department. In this role, you will be responsible for managing administrative functions, supporting legal staff, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations while driving efficiency and productivity within the team.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the administrative operations of the legal department, including managing schedules, workflows, and resources
- Coordinate communication between legal staff, clients, and external parties, ensuring timely responses and follow-ups
- Develop and maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical, to ensure easy access to legal documents and records
- Assist with the preparation and review of legal documents, contracts, and agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Manage budgets, billing processes, and invoicing for outside counsel, tracking expenses and providing reports as needed
- Implement and streamline office procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in legal operations
- Support the recruitment, training, and development of legal staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in legal administration or office management, preferably within a law firm or corporate legal department
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, processes, and compliance requirements
- Proficient in legal management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred:
- Experience in managing a legal team or department
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools
- Certification in legal management or office administration
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in legal document management systems and e-discovery tools
- Familiarity with case management software and client relationship management (CRM) systems
- Proficient in using collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams or Slack for remote communication
