Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Legal Administrative Assistant to support our legal team in providing outstanding service to our clients. In this role, you will assist in managing case files, preparing legal documents, and maintaining organized records while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic legal environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting, formatting, and proofreading legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, and correspondence
- Manage case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and updated
- Conduct basic legal research under the guidance of attorneys
- Coordinate schedules, meetings, and appointments for legal team members
- Handle client communications and inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality
- Maintain an organized electronic and physical filing system to support efficient access to legal documents
- Support administrative tasks such as billing, invoicing, and expense tracking
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a legal or administrative field
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with legal software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a legal environment or legal internship
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures
- Experience with document management systems
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite for document preparation and management
- Familiarity with legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) is a plus
- Ability to learn and adapt to new legal software and tools quickly
