Role Overview
The Assistant Lab Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the operations of our laboratory, assisting with the management of experiments, equipment, and data collection. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of laboratory experiments, ensuring all materials and equipment are ready for use
- Support the Lab Coordinator in managing daily lab operations, including inventory management and equipment maintenance
- Document experimental procedures and results accurately, maintaining compliance with established protocols
- Coordinate scheduling of lab usage among researchers and students, ensuring efficient use of resources
- Help train and mentor new lab personnel on safety and operational procedures
- Participate in the development of lab protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Contribute to research projects by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe laboratory environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry)
- Experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in an academic or research environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a coordinator or administrative role within a laboratory
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and best practices
- Proficiency in data analysis software and laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
