Role Overview
We are seeking an innovative and experienced Adjunct Interior Design Professor to join our esteemed faculty. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the next generation of interior designers through engaging curriculum development, hands-on teaching methodologies, and collaborative projects that reflect current industry standards and trends.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging, relevant course content across various topics in interior design, including but not limited to design theory, space planning, and sustainable design practices.
- Utilize advanced teaching techniques to foster a creative and inclusive learning environment, encouraging student engagement and collaboration.
- Provide constructive feedback to students on design projects, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Stay current with industry trends and integrate them into course materials, ensuring students are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills.
- Collaborate with faculty members and industry professionals to enhance program offerings and create networking opportunities for students.
- Participate in departmental meetings, contribute to curriculum reviews, and assist in program assessments.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Demonstrated professional experience in the interior design industry.
- Teaching experience at the college level or a strong desire to teach.
- Proficient knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Preferred:
- PhD or terminal degree in a related field.
- Published work or research in the field of interior design.
- Experience with curriculum development and innovative teaching methodologies.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in design software tools, including AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D modeling applications.
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles and their application in contemporary practice.
- Familiarity with building codes, materials, and construction methods.
